Brightons schools close early amidst severe storm warnings
All Brightons schools have been forced to close at 12pm today (Thursday, December 8) due to the impact of severe weather.
The decision was made by Falkirk Council after the Met Office issued a red alert warning of wind.
Severe storm-force winds and heavy rain are expected to batter the area and there is even a yellow alert for snow for tomorrow.
There are no community facilities currently affected by the weather; however, travel has been disrupted.
There have been reports of flooding on the following roads:
- Callendar Rd, Falkirk, standing water and passable with care.
- Grangemouth Rd, Falkirk standing water and passable with care.
- A883 Camelon to Denny road, standing water at the Bonny Water
- A905 Grangemouth to Bo’ness road, standing water and passable with care.
- A706 Bo’ness to Linlithgow road, standing water and some branches down but passable with care.
